Inspiration on the go with photographer Häre Christian

Meet Häre Christian — a beloved friend of Aarke and the photographer behind our latest To-Go Bottle launch. Whether weaving through sunlit streets in Barcelona or editing late into the night in Paris, Häre Christian lives life in motion. With an eye for the authentic and unfiltered, he finds beauty in the everyday — and wherever he goes, one thing always travels with him: the Aarke To-Go Bottle.

How has living in Barcelona and Paris influenced your visual style?

Christian – Barcelona is so lucky and generous in terms of sunlight and proximity to nature, so it's plausible — or probably a bit inevitable — that my style carries signs of that: sun-drenched and colourful, unpretentious and honest, something like my friends hiking somewhere.

Paris has a totally different vibe, obviously, covering the whole spectrum — from gritty, organic and real, to pompous, glamorous, and made-up :). I'm unsure, but maybe the big circus of it all has made me focus more on details and components, perhaps the most interesting parts of any setting. They're also easier to understand, focus on, and digest.

What catches your eye when you arrive somewhere new?

Christian – The quotidian and ordinary things catch my eye wherever I go. Maybe it’s a cliché or not very original in itself, but I’m interested in the originality and particularity of places. That goes from the light, the smell, and the rhythm of things to architecture, food, and how people live their lives and relate to each other. The unpretentious and honest, I suppose.

"It’s like music. Suddenly, you see it — and it’s as if the music comes on, or the light switches on — and there it is."

What fuels your creativity when you’re on the move?

Christian –I'm not sure that I'mthatcreative, to be honest. I mean, yes — I'm a creative person, haha — but I'm not sure whether my photography is creative. It’s more observational and documentary; I’m not trying to create or make anything up. Things are already in front of you. The most original and particular things are natural. You can't beat nature — so don't try, it's already perfect.

But circling back, I think my creativity is fueled by curiosity — the curiosity of finding or discovering something. Travelling gives me that very easily. It doesn’t have to be a secret; it's just that moment when you feel you’ve come across or seen something extraordinary, as if it were the meaning of life, or nature in its perfection. Whatever it is that moves you and makes your heart beat. It’s like music. Suddenly, you see it — and it’s as if the music comes on, or the light switches on — and there it is.
